This truly is a garden lodge as hibiscus, frangipani, bougainvillea, banana and paw paw grow in profusion in the vast garden of this guest house situated in Kasane, the gate to the famous Chobe National Park.
Guests love the garden and the prolific birds attracted to the flowers and fruits.
The Garden Lodge was built with the specific intention of offering personal service to a small number of guests. There are many fine lodges in the area, however most have over 100 beds; this lodge has 24.
Between the lodge and riverfront is a lawn area with shady indigenous trees. Warthog, mongoose, monitor lizard and other small animals are often seen on the lawn. The trees, shrubs and ornamental plants attract a wide variety of birds.
Whilst relaxing on the verandah, it is possible to record over 50 different species of birds. We have a resident pair of barn owls who have nested in the roof of the lodge every year, for the past 15 years, they are often seen at night perched in the trees looking at the guests.
At night, elephant and hippo can often be seen from the lodge. Please do not be tempted to leave the lodge to get a closer view of these animals!
