Salinas was instructed to exit the vehicle due an outstanding arrest warrant from Escambia County. After exiting the vehicle, Salinas swung at a trooper with a closed fist, striking him in the shoulder. Salinas was taken down to the ground and placed under arrest.
Salinas was very belligerent and was making racial slurs and obscenities, trooper said. After being instructed to stay seated, she attempted to stand up and run while handcuffed.
The FHP said she would not follow commands and had to be taken to the ground a second time. Salinas was transported to Baptist Hospital where she was medically cleared and then transported to the Escambia County Jail. She was charged with battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest with violence, possession of a new legend drug and possession of drug paraphernalia.
She remained in jail without bond.
